Specimen Requirements

Do not transport specimen in pneumatic tube. Specimen
must be hand delivered to laboratory, and test must be analyzed
within 4 hours of draw.

Draw blood using a 21 gauge needle, first into 1 clear BD
discard tube followed by 2 Greiner Bio-One vacuette
tubes. Allow tubes to fill to the black line. Do
not over or under fill tubes. Gently invert
the tubes 5 times to ensure adequate mixing. Do not
shake tubes. Forward unprocessed whole blood promptly
at ambient temperature only.
