Specimen Container:
Gray Top Sodium Fluoride/Potassium Oxalate Tube on ice
Specimen Requirements
Specimen must be sent to laboratory immediatley for testing. Must be centrifuged within 15 minutes of collection.
Draw blood in a gray top tube and place on wet ice
immediately. (Do not use a tourniquet.)
Specimen Stability Information
Plasma removed from the cells: 8 hours at room temp. 3 days refrigerated
Reference Intervals:
0.5 – 2.2 mg/dL
